FREE Sudden Cardiac Arrest Online Training

We at the TSRA know all to well how sudden cardiac arrests events can happen without warning – it was such an incident that sparked the created of “Referees Have Heart” where we raise money for life saving defibrillators to be placed at local fields in Toronto.

Recent events from the UEFA European Championships (Euro Cup) where Denmark’s Christian Eriksen suddenly collapsed during play and needed to be revived by an AED have sparked many FA’s to start training everyone involved in the game, to recognize the signs and how to quickly respond to such an event. As with any cardiac event, time is of the utmost importance and needs to be dealt with swiftly which is why players, coaches and officials should b e training as they are the closest people to an event and can intervene immediately, which drastically increases the odds of survival.

As such, There is a FREE Sudden Cardiac Arrest training course that you can take on the English FA’s website. We encourage anyone and everyone to take some time out of their day to complete it. This could happen to anyone, anytime, anywhere. BE PREPARED.

CANCELLED – The Robbie Int’l Tournament 2020

COVID-19 continues to have a significant impact on all our lives. We are adapting to social distancing and self-isolation and coping with the uncertainty when these restrictions will be lifted.

In the best interests of everyone’s health and safety, the Robbie Committee has made the difficult decision to cancel the 2020 Robbie International Tournament and Festival.

We know this will greatly disappoint many coaches, athletes and their families, and match officials who look forward to the Robbie which was established over 50 years ago to promote soccer and donate proceeds to Cystic Fibrosis Canada.

We thank everyone for their continued support of the Robbie Tournament and Festival. Please look for communications during the coming months from the Robbie with themes of soccer and community support

We look forward to your participation in the 2021 Robbie celebrating 55 years of partnership in raising funds for research in finding a cure for Cystic Fibrosis while enjoying “the beautiful game”.

I hope that this message finds you, your family and friends well.
As you are all aware, we are going through a very difficult time with the outbreak of the COVID-19 virus. During this time, it is imperative that we follow guidelines set out by our health and government officials. Here some recommendations, to keep you and your family safe:
 Keep twice an arm’s length between yourself and others. Stay home when possible.
 Give enough space when standing in line when you are out purchasing necessities.
 Avoid direct physical contact, such as handshaking or hugging.
 Wash your hands regularly and frequently with soap for at least 20 seconds.
 Avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth with unwashed hands.
 Seek medical attention and/or self-isolate if you have any symptoms.
 Spread love and caring instead of fear and false information.
 Be kind, considerate and generous to your neighbours and fellow citizens

TSRA has suspended all “in person” education sessions and social activities for the duration of the pandemic. We will follow recommendations and directives given by our health departments and government guidelines. The annual Referee Expo which is scheduled for the first week of May is cancelled. Information emails will be sent out to all our mailing list with regards to
